- Some 1992-1999 Vortec powered engines
Some Vortec powered engines that are powered with Central Port Injection, do not have a vacuum line that feeds all cylinders. If this is the case, the total system intake cleaner in the aerosol spray can also be used through the Throttle Body. Remove the intake boot leading to the Throttle Body and with the engine running at approximately 1,500 RPMs, spray the aerosol contents into the Throttle Body. In some cases, the PCV vacuum line can also be used. If you have any further questions, please submit them on the "Ask the Expert" page.
- Vacuum Pump Vehicles
Some vehicles are equipped with a vacuum pump that pulls vacuum to the brake booster. Many of the newer BMW models have this type of vacuum pump. Please do not run the total intake system cleaner through any vacuum line that flows through a vacuum pump. An alternate vacuum location needs to be used such as the PCV vacuum line. Or, any other vacuum line that draws vacuum straight into the intake system down stream of the MAF.(Mass Air Flow Sensor) The application hose has a tapered nozzle that was designed fit into multiple sizes of vacuum line.
